Q and A with Dwayne

Hey out there,

I would like to thank everyone for there support all season out at the field and your questions right here on my site. I hope you have enjoyed my website and will continue to support, ask questions, and follow up on my progress through the off season, and leading into the New Year.

Best Wishes,

And now for some questions:

Q: Are you excited about suiting up for your 100th cap with the Dynamo?  Bummer you have to wait until CONCACAF to get it at the end of the month, but still a major milestone.  Congrats!

De Ro: Thanks for the reminder! Yeah, it would have been nice to get my 100th cap during the play-offs but…

Dynamo's season ends with playoff loss to Red Bulls

There will be no three-peat after all. All that dynasty talk will have to wait at least another year.

The Dynamo’s aspirations of winning a third straight MLS Cup came crashing down — and hard — on an otherwise beautiful Sunday afternoon. Before a near-capacity crowd of 30,053. At home, no less.

The Dynamo couldn’t stop the stampede that was Dane Richards and the New York Red Bulls, who are headed to the Western Conference final thanks to a 3-0 upset victory, arguably the biggest in franchise history, that clinched them the home-and-home semifinal series 4-1 in aggregate in what will register as one of the biggest upsets in MLS playoff history.

The teams had played to a 1-1 tie at Giants Stadium…

Dwayne and the Houston Dynamo begin their quest for an unpresidented third straight MLS cup trophy. The Dynamo face the New York Red Bulls in the first round of the playoffs. The Red Bulls were the final team to make the playoffs this year with a 10-11-9 record. During the regular season, the Dynamo and Red Bulls split their match-up, 1-1, with the home team winning each time.

The Dynamo look to continue their dominance over the MLS as the league’s best defense team. Dwayne is excited to compete against the Red Bulls and believes the Dynamo have a tough match ahead, but have a great shot of defeating New York. The Dynamo finished with the best record in the Western…

Q and A with Dwayne

Q: What do you think Canadian soccer needs to do to raise the level of play so that they can become a factor on the national stage? Do you see Canada consistently making the world cup in the near future, and do you think they will win it in your lifetime? (from Charlie, Toronto)

De Ro: Canada, in my opinion, should already be a regular in the World Cup. It’s too big of a country not to be and far to much talent goes unnoticed. It’s all in preparing the youth for the big stage! Canada as a whole needs to unite the provinces and focus on a common goal, and that is developing the young talent and putting them…

Dwayne answers questions from fans

Q: Who was your favorite player you looked up to as a child?

De Ro: I looked up to and admired a lot of professionals when I was younger, but names that stood out include Pele, George Weah, Diego Maradona, Marco van Basten, and Romário just to name a few.

Q: What do you feel are your biggest achievements, both on and off the field?

De Ro: I would say that signing my first pro contract, my first selection for the Canadian National Team, and winning the MLS cups would be my biggest achievements on the field. Each of those was a true landmark in my life. Off the field I am proud of keeping my love &...
